In Zapotec, Una’ literally translates to ‘woman’ – a fitting tribute as Convite rolls out this beautifully-aged, high-quality artisan mezcal. Convite Una’ is a true labor of love from start to finish, as Convite’s mezcaleros infuse decades of Mexican distilling tradition into every bottle – while the Una’ bottle itself pays homage to the feminine spirit.
Naturally tinted with Cochineal, which has been used for centuries and is native to Oaxaca, Convite Una’ is an 80 proof Espadín mezcal using meticulously cultivated agaves harvested between seven and eight years hailing from the Zapotec mountains. The precise distillation method, along with selection and purity of natural ingredients, give Convite mezcals a distinctive taste – warm, rich and inviting.
The idea for Una’ derived from the desire to give back to indigenous communities where Convite makes its mezcal. With Convite Una’, the goal is to create awareness among women around the importance of periodic breast cancer examinations. These communities are often unaware of preventative breast cancer care or are afraid to approach the health care system – making the work that organizations like FUCAM does mission critical.

Legend has it that Cooper Brown was a real man alive and well during the mid-nineteenth century, Young Cooter resided somewhere along the seemingly innocuous line that divided the north and south. Cooter’s relatives of both Northern and Southern blood lived on the fateful line. As tensions grew and war became imminent, Cooter found himself in quite the quandary. Cooter, a naturally peaceful and amiable fellow even at the worst time, was faced with the impossible decision of choosing which side and which family members with which to side. Cooter chose a third option: he got drunk. He got so drunk and stayed so drunk, in fact, that he became useless to either side and therefore ineligible for service in the entire Civil War. We hope to carry on the tradition that Cooter began by keeping a fair balance in our lives, home, and of course our food which mixes the best of the South with Northern and other world influences. So raise your glass to Cooter, and toast to a peaceful existence.

Sonic aging makes better spirits. Music play 24/7 in our cellar causing a “distillate wave” inside the barrel. In our opinion, this increased frequency of contact between the distillate and the barrel walls enhances the finishing process, resulting in a crafted spirit unlike any you’ve sipped before.
