Bruichladdich Islay Barley 14 Year Old
At Bruichladdich, whisky is more than just a drink. It’s a force for positive change. We use our uncompromising spirit to reconnect land, community, and dram for good. We step outside conventional whisky systems to champion agriculture, unlocking barley’s diverse flavour potential and supporting farmers in search of the most respectful solutions for the environment. In this exploratory series, we pioneer three principles: the what, the where and the how of barley growing in Scotland.
In 2004 we issued a call to our community to grow barley for distillation for the first time in over 100 years, capturing our inimitable terroir. What started with one farmer is today an island-wide project. This cereal-forward spirit has been stoved in ex-bourbon and ex-wine casks in our Islay warehouses. Floral and complex, with a maritime-citrus note, this single malt perfectly epitomizes our commitment to provenance and our island community.
Our Bruichladdich Islay Barley is a unique expression of our island home. Here, on this western outcrop overlooking the Atlantic, barley fields are exposed to the elements and ravaged by marauding geese. Conceived, distilled, matured & bottled at Bruichladdich Distillery, Isle of Islay, a product of Scotland.

Bruichladdich Organic Barley 2012
At Bruichladdich, whisky is more than just a drink. It’s a force for positive change. We use uncompromising spirit to reconnect land, community, and dram for good. We step outside conventional whisky systems to champion agriculture, unlocking barley’s diverse flavor potential and supporting farmers in search of positive environmental solutions. In this exploratory series, we pioneer three principles: The what, the where, and the how of barley growing in Scotland.
It was a landmark move when we revisited the revolutionary old ideas of our ancestors and distilled an organic crop of barley in 2003. The industrialization of both distilling and agriculture had disconnected us from grain and ground to the detriment of our abilities to translate flavor from grain through to glass. Two decades on, we continue to champion organic systems that express a true sense of place, while regenerating the land. Here on Islay, this delicately nuanced malt is distilled slowly, through our tall, narrow-necked stills, before being matured in ex-bourbon and ex0wine casks. Rich and creamy in character, this single malt is a testament to the patience of our farming partners and our distilling team.

Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie 10 Year Old
Resurrecting our Victorian distillery in 2001, we set course to be whisky pioneers. Aiming to make the most thought-provoking spirit possible, we introduced the idea of terroir to whisky, advocated for total transparency, and challenged the origin of flavour. We discovered that whisky can be more than just a drink. It can be a positive force for change, as we continue to reconnect land, community and dram.
In our endless pursuit of flavour, we have championed whisky’s essential raw ingredient – barley. We have sourced our crops from inside Scotland and put flavour and farmer first. With those farmers, we have shared in the risk and reward of seeking the best, from the ground up, and are united in our mission to leave behind healthy lands for young hands.
Created to capture our elegantly robust and floral house style, each batch of The Classic Laddie 10 Aged Years is unpeated, with a unique recipe. It is an embodiment of our distilling philosophy: slow, trickle distillation, unrivalled cask selection, all-Islay maturation and an uncompromising approach to bottling within the distillery gates – un-chill filtered, no colour added, using Islay spring water.

Smooth as a baby bull’s hide, yet sweet and silky, mashed with a higher than average bit of rye and a lot of straight corn, with a dash of malt to open up all that flavor. Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection: Spirits Distilled from Grain and Hops
Buffalo Trace Distillery proudly presents the 26th release from its groundbreaking Experimental Collection: Spirits Distilled from Grain and Hops. This latest addition exemplifies the Distillery’s philosophy of “Honor Tradition, Embrace Change,” as it explores how hops—typically used in beer production—affect a spirit’s flavor profile.
Crafted over a decade ago, Spirits Distilled from Grain and Hops is the result of Master Distiller Harlen Wheatley’s curiosity about the influence of hops on whiskey. He infused two distinct hop varieties—Saaz noble hops and Zythos®—into a raw distillate, allowing them to steep for 30 minutes before redistilling and aging the spirit in charred white oak barrels for over 11 years. This process imparts a unique balance of hoppy aromas and flavors, while retaining the depth of traditional whiskey characteristics.
Bottled at 90-proof, the spirit offers a vibrant nose of citrus and herbal hop notes, layered with creamy vanilla and seasoned oak. On the palate, bright lemon and orange zest mix with fresh herbal flavors and robust oak, while the finish remains clean and refreshing. A perfect balance of bitterness and oakiness emerges, making this spirit ideal for sipping neat or as a unique base for cocktails like a hopped-up Manhattan.
