On March 1, 1872, President Ulysses S. Grant signed the Yellowstone National Park Protection Act into law, protecting one of the most unique natural environments on earth.
This limited edition straight bourbon whiskey honors the first 150 years of Yellowstone. Master Blender Nancy Fraley has created a unique, 9 year-old blend of wheated and rye bourbons to help celebrate America’s first national park and the 150th anniversary.
Each of the 150 bottles will come with a leather carrying case, and all sales proceeds will be donated to help support Yellowstone Forever, in their continued efforts to protect, preserve and enhance the future of Yellowstone National Park.

Wyoming Whiskey Powder River Bourbon
The Powder River gathers itself in Northwest Wyoming and rumbles between gunpowder-dry riverbanks north into Yellowstone country. After crossing it in the late 1800s’ and putting a few celebratory pistol rounds through the roof of a saloon, a cowboy coined the phrase “Powder River, Let ‘er buck.” Wyoming troops used the refrain in the Spanish American War; they still do today. You’ll hear it at Wyoming fairs, rodeos, and football games. It’s uniquely Wyoming – just like our whiskey.

Palate: Palate entry offers soft alcohol and roundness on the tongue, yet packs an aromatic punch with fruity, minty flavors of peach mousse with a ginger-mint syrup, fragrant honeysuckle, peppermint cookies with candy cane topping, candied tangerine peels, and a spicy mint julep cocktail with mint simple syrup.

Palate: Balanced yet bold, with brandied Morello cherries muddled with fresh mint leaves, date spice cake, Dr. Pepper float, Black Forrest Cake with shaved almonds and heavy whipping cream, Bing cherries with vanilla ice cream, dark Pumpernickel bread with butter, and mincemeat pie.

Color: Golden amber to light copper
Nose: The nose offers sweet aromas with subtle floral and spice overtones, with sage honey, blackberry preserves, apple oatmeal crisp with vanilla bean ice cream, gingerbread, butterscotch pudding, almond butter, Italian anise cookies with lemon-sugar glaze, and cinnamon bun with white icing.
Palate: Palate entry presents much softer than what the high proof suggests, with all the same sweet, savory, and spicy notes on the nose following through to the palate. Further flavors of cinnamon raisin bagels with cream cheese icing, brown butter with sage over pumpkin ravioli, sticky toffee pudding, and kumquat-orange marmalade over buttery croissants coat the palate.
Finish: Warming and well-balanced, with good length and enduring sweetness.

The Thermopolis Cowboy Rendezvous Rodeo has existed in many forms, under many names, and at many venues dating back to 1895. It witnessed the creation of Thermopolis and celebrated the arrival of the railroad. It sat idle in respect of two World Wars but returned to welcome the greatest names in rodeo through its gates. In honor of the oldest Hot Springs County tradition, Wyoming Whiskey selected this single barrel bourbon to match the greatest of this event.
