Wigle Honey Flavored Bourbon
All summer long, hard working bees store the flavor of wildflower nectar in their signature product, honey. We were inspired by their diligence and paired regional honey with our own signature bourbon to make a smooth, sweet and floral spirit.
Honey Bourbon starts with Wigle Straight Pennsylvania Bourbon aged for 2 years in American oak barrels. Once harvested, it’s sweetened with just the right amount of raspberry blossom honey from local apiary, Bedillion Honey Farm to create a smooth, easy drinking libation. It’s a true honey bourbon, not a liqueur. Leave your other honey whiskies in the freezer and keep Wigle Honey Bourbon front and center on your bar!

Wigle Pennsylvania Wapsie Bourbon 4 Year Old
Wigle Pennsylvania Wapsie Valley Bourbon shows off the tasty fruits of our commitment to working with local farmers.
Consistently one of our most popular and critically-acclaimed spirits, Pennsylvania Wapsie Valley Bourbon is the result of commitments made by local family farms to bring back an heirloom style of corn known as Wapsie Valley Corn. This open-pollinated corn is challenging to grow but rewards us with its giant stalks and bright beautiful multi-toned ruby ears.
When Nigel Tudor farmer at Weatherbury Farms outside of Pittsburgh, first approached us in 2014 to see if we might be interested in working with this corn, we jumped at the opportunity. With its protein content higher than that of yellow corn, we though it had the potential to make one hell of a Bourbon. Time has proven that Nigel and the other local farms that have followed in his footsteps to supply us this heirloom corn variety have given us a great gift. Wapsie Valley corn does indeed make a superlative Bourbon.
Production on Wapsie Valley Bourbon begins when we grind the whole grains into grist at our Distillery. Once we ferment the mash, we transfer the ferment to our copper kettle stills before filling barrels to age in our Northside Barrelhouses.
This batch of Straight Wapsie Bourbon was aged for more than two years in new, charred, oak barrels. Bottled at 92 proof with notes of butterscotch, brown sugar, and leather.
Mash Bill: Wapsie Valley Red Heirloom Corn (65%); Malted Barley (17.5%); Wheat (17.5%)
Tasting Notes: Butterscotch, brown sugar, leather
Aged: 2 years in new American Charred Oak Barrels
750 mL / 92 PROOF (46% ABV)

Wigle Port Cask Rye
Award: Winner of an American Craft Spirits Association 2020 GOLD MEDAL
Our Monongahela Rye begins with regionally-sourced Organic Rye, Malted Barley and Wheat that we mill, mash, ferment and distill in small batches in our Pittsburgh distillery. The high-proof rye spirit is then transferred to charred, new American oak barrels for aging. This specific batch of Monongahela Rye was aged in 25-gallon barrels for 3 1/2 years. Once it acquired the spicy, robust, oaky flavors that we love, we removed the rye whiskey from the smaller barrels and moved it into full-sized Port wine barrels for finishing.
After eighteen months in the Port wine barrels, the resulting whiskey has a brilliant violet hue and a lavish finish: the sweet, vinous flavors imparted by the Port barrels harmonize with the strong character of the rye whiskey and elevate it to create a complex, full-bodied whiskey that is superior to the sum of its parts. Pittsburgh Port Rye whiskey is bottled at 92 proof and is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks.
Pittsburgh Port Rye is, in many ways, a tale of two cities and how their respective identities were shaped by the iconic alcohol that emanated from the cities’ boundaries into the wider world. Porto is a blue-collar city of “tripe-eaters” that is the capital of Portugal’s industrial north and also served as a point of departure for historic exploration of the New World. Pittsburgh, home to native Yinzers, is Rust Belt city that was once on the edge of a great frontier. Both Monongahela Rye and Port wine were born out of necessity and ingenuity. The Port wine was fortified with brandy so that it could survive long journeys at sea without spoiling. Rye grain was converted into rye whiskey because the latter was easier to transport and would not spoil. Pittsburgh Port Rye was inspired by the traditions of our region’s famous Monongahela Rye Whiskey and the Duoro Valley’s famed Port Wine tradition to create an opulent new standard for rye whiskey.
Tasting Notes: stewed fruit, vanilla, oak
750 mL / 92 PROOF (46% ABV)
