We finished our 4 and 5 year old straight rye whiskies for over 3 years in separate Vino de Naranja, Oloroso Sherry, and Sauternes barrels. The Maryland Whiskey Collective combined these whiskies to deliver a truly distinctive dram. The expression features aromas of orange marmalade, fresh peaches, candied pecans, vanilla beans, and subtle hints of aged leather. Notes of golden raisins, creamy caramel, and dark chocolate complement the classic spice profile of our signature whiskey. Sagamore Bottle in Bond Straight Rye Whiskey marks our commitment to the highest levels of excellence and authenticity—furthering our mission to make Maryland-distilled, aged, and bottled products. Enacted in 1897, the Bottled in Bond distinction is a marker of distilling quality and transparency. Produced in the fall of 2017 at our Maryland distillery, this Rye Whiskey is a blend of two rye mash bills—a high rye and a low rye—showcasing flavors of rye spice from our grain, fruit and floral notes from our sour mash fermentation, and toasty caramel from our barrel aging.

This fall, purple will rise as the Baltimore Ravens introduce their first-ever alternate helmet & to commemorate the launch, we have partners with the Ravens to create a 204 Sagamore Rye Whiskey limited edition Purple Rising bottle. Sip from a blend of two straight rye mash bills, aged 4 to 6 years in high-char American oak barrels and proofed with limestone-filtered water from our spring house built in 1909. This 100% Maryland-made rye whiskey prioritizes a grain-to-glass process, connecting with the local farming community, and a determination to create the highest quality product. Rounded out with a warm spice & honey linger through a mild oak and faded fruit finish, our final product represents our team’s thoughtful approach to crafting a classic Maryland-style rye whiskey.

Our 4-year-old straight rye whiskey spent an additional 4 years and 4 months in a Sauternes barrel. Immediately rich and floral on the nose, aromas of fresh apricots, dried cherries, cacao nibs, and applewood smoke fill the glass. Orange marmalade, golden pears, and charred marshmallow flavors seamlessly unite with the classic spice profile of our signature whiskey to create a sophisticated sipper.
