George Garvin Brown was proud of his Scottish heritage. To celebrate these Gaelic roots this small batch has been uniquely finished in Scotch Whisky casks. These Speyside Sourced sherry and wine maturation and finishing casks highlight Old Forester’s natural fruit character that is a result of fermentation with the oldest yeast strain in the industry.

In 1924, Owsley Brown took barrels of whiskey with different mash bills to a warehouse on Howard Street in Louisville, KY and bottled them as Old Forester. This 10-year-old expression honors the 100th anniversary of this occasion.

Old Forester King Ranch Edition celebrates the union of two iconic American brands. With over 300 years of combined history, each is woven into the nation’s fabric. Old Forester, The First Bottled Bourbon, and King Ranch, The Birthplace of American Ranching. The expression is a homage to the value that bring them together including hard work, ingenuity, and a lasting legacy.

Bottled at 105 proof from a proprietary batch of Old Forester Bourbon using heavily charred barrels, the bourbon is finished through King Ranch mesquite charcoal. The charcoal was created from mesquite trees harvested from the ranch. The process brings a touch of Texas and helps highlight the bold flavor notes in this new bourbon.

Aroma: Dried cherries, cranberries, toasted pecans and marshmallows drizzled with sorghum molasses

Flavor: Sweet dark chocolate, tobacco and leather spices mingle with toasted and caramelized oak and nut character

This is a selection aged 8 summers in barrel #AB123. This rare bourbon was willfully bottled by the direction of Campbell Brown.
