Mr. & Mrs. Bourbon Gold Standard
In 2010, when basketball start Russ Smith arrived at the University of Louisville from New York City, he instantly fell in love with the cities heritage and pace. Over the years, a.k.a. Mr. Smith, has developed the Mr. & Mrs. Bourbon Company as his way of paying homage to the town and culture he grew to love and call his own.
Mr. Smith wanted to develop a bourbon to drink with his closest friends in both times of success and defeat. The “Gold Standard” showcases a Straight Bourbon Whiskey aged for 12 years and finished in a Cabernet Sauvignon cask.

Mr. Big Shot Bourbon By Chauncey Billups
Chauncey Billups, former NBA player and current head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, was drafted by the Boston Celtics in 1997 after playing for the Colorado Buffaloes. He had a 17-year career, most notably with the Detroit Pistons, winning the NBA Finals MVP in 2004 and earning the nickname “Mr. Big Shot” for his late-game heroics. A five-time NBA All-Star, three-time All-NBA selection, and two-time NBA All-Defense selection. Billups amassed 15,802 points, 2,992 rebounds, and 5,636 assists. He will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2024.

Today, we know Kilbourne as a vibrant street, regularly filled with music and dancing for all ages, races, and members of the community. Over the last two years, Frank’s “6ft. Aparty” gatherings provided a much-needed respite to help us feel a bit more normal from the cabin fever we all inevitably felt. Our community is filled with innovators, artists, musicians, self-starters, puppeteers, and so much more. This is what we love about Mt. Pleasant. You make our community so very unique and this is why we call it home.

Muhlenberg Kentucky Bourbon
Time brings change, just ask folks in Muhlenberg County, Kentucky. Muhlenberg was once known for its abundance of coal, and for the hard-working miners who spent their lives digging it out of the ground. In the earliest days, they would work countless hours in cramped tunnels, using hand tools to chip away at the seam. They would hand load carts deep in the earth, using big, stubborn mules to haul the coal up and out into the light. This little spot on the map once helped power the world, and the world may have moved on, but the spirit remains…
The bourbon in your hand is also a testament to what time can do. Distilled, aged, and bottled on a hill overlooking the little mining town of Graham, this handcrafted spirit has spent a few seasons in the dark, waiting to be hauled our and shared with the world. Murder Bourbon begins with a mash bill of corn, rye, and barley. This unparalleled spirit comes off the still at a proof we think maximizes the best flavor of the grain. After aging in new white American oak, that combination of perfect proof and time inside the barrel coalesces into an exceptionally smooth product with notes of buttery brown sugar and caramel, ideal for sipping. Murray McDavid Benchmark 10 Year Old Teaninich Koval Bourbon Cask Finish
In 1817 by ‘Blind’ Captain Munro, a Napoleonic war hero, who, after losing his sight in battle, returned home and built the Teaninich Distillery.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Dry grass, honey, sweet ginger
Palate: Apple pastry, vanilla, spicy malt
Finish: Long, mouthcoating, peppery
We matured this highland malt in compact bourbon casks from our wood partners, Koval Distillery and, after 3 years, the result is a wonderfully balanced whisky.

Caol Ila Distillery is the powerhouse of whisky-making on the Isles of Islay. We tamed its vibrant, peated spirit by filling it into opulent oak casks, previously used to mature rich, fruity Cognac.

Nose: Coastel, crisp apple, charred oak
Palate: Beach bonfire, oily citrus, ginger
Finish: Leathery, lingering salted caramel.
The slow-grown French oak, with its refined, silky tannins, has added sophistication to this Islay malt’s peated style and after three years in a Cognac cask, the results are magnifique.
