Maker’s Mark Cellar Aged Bourbon 2024 Release
Aging our whisky for over 10 years wasn’t something we ever did. Not because we didn’t believe in it but because we hadn’t found our way of doing it. Maker’s Mark® Cellar Aged defines an older whisky that’s distinctly Maker’s. By embracing both the unique impact that our warehouse and cellar maturation have on flavor, we’ve created an older expression that is richer and more complex whilst staying true to the founder’s taste vision of bourbon without the bite. The 2024 Release of Cellar Aged is an artistic blend of 12- and 13-year-old barrels to achieve the taste vision for a brighter, fruiter and more complex Maker’s Mark.
TASTING NOTES
Aroma
Caramelized sugar, citrus, almond
Taste
Shortbread, rich coconut, bright spice
Finish
Dried dark fruit, toasted oak, with a long mouthcoating finish
Our long-awaited and first-ever older expression.
The 2023 release was a blend of 11- and 12-year-old whisky, at 115.7 proof, resulting in a deeper, darker whisky with a velvety finish. The 2024 release is a blend of 12- and 13-year-old whisky, at 119.3 proof, offering a brighter, fruitier profile with a longer mouthcoating finish.
It starts as every bottle of Maker’s Mark® does, aging in our traditional warehouse before spending years in our LEED-certified, temperature-controlled limestone cellar. This additional aging in the cellar develops a deeper, richer, and more complex flavor.

Maker’s Mark DNA Project
ABOUT THE DNA PROJECT. Genetically speaking, humans are 99.9% the same. But that little bit of difference makes us all very distinct. The same can be said for our bourbon. Even the smallest details make a big difference when it comes to taste, and this project is proof.
Each project is an experiment exploring variations in fermentation, distillation, and maturation, to further understand what makes Maker’s, well, Maker’s. The precise and purposeful process our founders created to achieve their taste vision is now both time-honored and scientifically proven. Go on and taste for yourself the undeniable difference a little detail can make.

Maker’s Mark Founders Series 2nd Edition William T. Samuels
Bill Samuels, Sr. came from a long line of distinguished Samuels generations making undistinguished whisky. In 1953, looking to improve bourbon’s taste profile (and the family’s reputation), he torched the family recipe and started anew. His vision was to create a smooth, flavorful whisky that would bring connoisseurship to America’s native spirit. The going was slow at first, but by the early 1980s Maker’s Mark had succeeded in forever elevating the perception of bourbon – a lofty image it holds today, thanks largely to Bill’s foresight and tenacity.

Maker’s Mark Frenched Oak
A few years back Bill Samuels Jr. became obsessed with creating a new version of Maker’s Mark with amplified notes of vanilla, caramel, and spice while offering a longer finish without the bitterness his Dad was so opposed to. After a lengthy process of trial and error, Bill landed on the idea of finishing fully-matured Maker’s Mark in the barrel for a little bit longer with specially chosen French Oak Staves. And they had a winner. Enjoy the legacy of Bill Samuels Jr. son of the founders of Maker’s Mark, Bill & Margie.

Maker’s Mark The Evangelist Straight Bourbon
Bill Samuels, Jr., earned degrees in Engineering and Law, designed rocket nozzles, and served as a White House intern.
His true calling, however, was the family business. His mom and dad did the heavy lifting of creation, so Bill’s job was to find customers for their unique kind of bourbon.
After finding success as Maker’s Mark’s first brand ambassador, Bill was made President of the company in 1975. He held the position for over 35 years, turning Maker’s Mark from an obscure regional brand into an internationally respected and loved icon of the spirits world – and ensuring every drop was handcrafted right here on Star Hill Farm.

Maker’s Mark The Keeper’s Release Wood Finishing Series 2025
The second series of our limited Wood Finishing Series explores unique taste visions that celebrate those who craft our handmade bourbon at Star Hill Farm—the makers of Maker’s Mark. The Keeper’s Release is a one-of-a-kind expression inspired by the people who oversee the maturation of our whiskey, the true “keepers” of Maker’s Mark. Through cold winters and hot Kentucky summers, they deploy a deep knowledge of the aging process, hand-rotating casks to ensure every single drop of our whiskey emerges from the barrel at its very best. This bold expression features hints of oak and toasted sweetness. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series 2023: BEP
With our 2023 Wood Finishing Series release, we’re showcasing the influence of our unique 110 barrel entry proof (BEP). We go in at this lower proof to achieve the one-of-a-kind taste profile Bill Samuels, Sr., established in 1953. Anything less or more wouldn’t truly be or taste like the Maker’s mark you know.
To celebrate our special 110 entry proof, we’ve created an expression that features even more of what you get from a lower entry proof – more wood sugars, more barrel characteristics, and, ultimately, a more flavorful sip.
Our first chapter of the Wood Finishing Series has been a way of honoring all the elements that make Maker’s Maker’s. But with this seventh and final expression, we’re closing the chapter out (with a just-as-exciting chapter to follow). Enjoy accordingly!
Tasting Notes: An expression with prominent wood sugars bringing first strong notes of vanilla, caramel, and sweet spice.

Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series FAE-01
For Maker’s Mark Wood Finishing Series 2021 release, we set out to create an expression to pay homage to our unique copper still design and celebrate our non-chill filtration process. This approach retains more of the fatty acid esters in our bourbon, resulting in bigger fruit notes and viscosity. We believe this process is so important to the overall taste of Maker’s Mark that we created two expressions to pay tribute to this.
