Mars Whisky Iwai Tradition Sherry Cask Finish Japanese Whisky is bottled at 40% Alc/Vol.
Sandwiched between Japan’s soaring Southern Alps and the towering Central Alps, at just over 2,600 feet, Mars Shinshu is Japan’s highest whisky distillery. The Hombo family have been distilling for more than a century and they added whisky to their repertoire in 1949. Back then the distillery was located in Kagoshima Prefecture on the southern most island of Kyushu. Until 1984, it was the southernmost whisky made in Japan, which ended with the Hombo clan moving the distillery to the idyllic alpine setting of Miyada village in southern Nagano Prefecture. They chose this site for its cool temps, which slowed maturation, and the plentiful, soft, granite filtered snowmelt fed aquifers. Smart choice. The whiskies are elegant, smooth and very complex.

Our Maple Cask Reserve is the result of tradition and innovation. We aged pure maple syrup from the Northwoods of Wisconsin in our ex-bourbon barrels to impart that delicious maple flavor into the wood. Then we finished select barrels of bourbon in these maple bourbon casks, infusing the rich sweetness of pure Wisconsin maple syrup into our luxurious, Wisconsin bourbon whiskey.

J. Reiger Rock Chalk Straight Rye 2023 Release
2022 was a great year to be a Jayhawk. We hung a banner in Allen Fieldhouse, our football team went bowling for the first time in 15 years and the first edition of Rock Chalk Rye hit shelves all over the state of Kansas.
