As admirers of the famed single malts of Scotland, we challenged ourselves to create a true American single malt. Embodying the pioneering spirit of the American west, while paying homage to those who got us here.

A blend of 100% copper pot-distilled malt whiskeys, aged a minimum of two years and produced high in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. Unfiltered and distilled on the grain for a robust, western character.

Known for bold notes of fresh apricots, toasted marshmallow, and roasted walnuts upfront, with honeycomb, sourdough toast, and a hint of smoked lemon peel on the finish.

Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water – while the sun dips low of the western horizon.

You may already be familiar with our 36th vote Barreled Manhattan and wondering how this differs. We took this opportunity to refine our blend to bring you this intricate rendition of a true classic. The new Barrel finished Manhattan features a bourbon & rye blend for more flavor complexity as well as a blend of two vermouths of Italian and American origin. While the 36th vote will be going away, we are confident that this new blend will delight with its depth of rich, deep flavors and a smooth well-rounded finish.

We drive complexity in our Old Fashioned by using both bourbon and rye whiskeys, which lends earthy-sweet corn notes and dry rye spice, pulled together with an unrefined raw sugar simple syrup and bitters. We then rest the cocktail in second-use rye whiskey barrels for an additional 3 months to marry the flavors and round out its character, ultimately lending an enhanced fullness to the drink. So as you raise your glass high to the mountain sunset, rest assured we’ve taken every step to craft a cocktail for discerning whiskey lovers like us.

This limited release is an intensely “ryed” blend of straight rye whiskey because the components in this whiskey have a high rye mash bill. This gem is best enjoyed alone or with a little water, or with discerning friends, or good-looking strangers. As always High West does not chill filter. We prefer to retain the whiskey’s natural oils that contribute flavor, texture, and a lingering finish we really enjoy.

A spirit of Collaboration Several years back, we were inspired by our travels to experiment with making a smoky spirit. We took our idea to the quintessential expert in southern smoke, Allan Benton of Benton’s Country Hams in Madisonville, TN. A classic Southern storyteller, Allan has never met a stranger. His wisdom, generosity. and attention to detail helped make this collaboration an incredibly gratifying success even before the spirit hit the bottle.
