J. Reiger Rock Chalk Straight Rye 2023 Release
2022 was a great year to be a Jayhawk. We hung a banner in Allen Fieldhouse, our football team went bowling for the first time in 15 years and the first edition of Rock Chalk Rye hit shelves all over the state of Kansas.
We’re kicking off 2023 with a second edition of Rock Chalk Rye, featuring the 1920 Jayhawk. Let’s raise a glass to the successes of 2022, and more importantly, the great things that lie ahead this year.

J. Rieger Monogram 2022 Edition
Our 2022 Monogram Whiskey release is a marriage of Straight Bourbon Whiskeys that have been aged a minimum of 5 years before entering into Oloroso Sherry Botas for an extended finishing period that can last many additional years. These incredibly rare casks comprise a Solera aging process that gives this exemplary Whiskey added depth, complexity, and beauty that you are unlikely to find in any other American Whiskey.

J. Rieger Rock Chalk Straight Rye
This is legacy in a bottle. Our limited-edition Rock Chalk Straight Rye Whiskey represents two pillars of Midwestern history. When Dr. James Naismith brought basketball to Lawrence, our founder has already opened J. Rieger & Co thirty-five miles away. When Phog Allen gave rise to the KU basketball legacy, we were the largest mail-order whiskey house in the country. After 120 years, people still come to KU for the best in college basketball, and they come to us for the finest whiskey.

J. Rieger Sporting Kansas City Whiskey
The State Line. Since its earliest beginnings as a stopping-off point at the confluence of two mighty rivers, it has both shaped and defined our amazing city. It’s in this spirit that we present the third annual limited edition Rieger’s Sporting Kansas City Whiskey, a signature blend of Straight Bourbon, Straight Rye & Light Corn Whiskeys with just a hint of Sherry – a marriage as unique as the two cities that share its name.

Maple Ranch Straight Bourbon
Maple Ranch Straight Bourbon Whiskey is bottled at 50% ALC/VOL (100 Proof). Produced by Jacob Rieger & Company.
Jacob Rieger & Company was founded in 1887 in Kansas City’s West Bottoms Livestock Exchange district. The brand offered over 100 alcoholic products and took pride in maintaining a quarter of a million unique customers by offering mail-order delivery services. In 1919, Prohibition was enacted by the federal government and wasn’t reversed until 1933. J. Rieger & Co. was a casualty at the time, but was not destined to be lost forever. Now, a century after Prohibition, we are proud once again to call Kansas City home.

Rieger’s Bottled in Bond Straight Bourbon
This Bottled in Bond Bourbon is as American as the story of J. Rieger & Co. itself. Founded by immigrants in 1887 and assumed to be a permanent casualty of prohibition, our distillery was revived in 2014 by a group of modern pioneers that included the great, great-grandson of Jacob Rieger himself.
This Bourbon, distilled from corn, rye, and malted barley, has been aged for six years in our rick house and is the first offering of this spirit since our resurrection.

Rieger’s Bottled in Bond Straight Rye
Our 2021 Bottled In Bond Straight Rye Whiskey represents the first Whiskey distilled in Kansas City since Prohibition, and the first barrels laid down at the J. Rieger & Co. distillery in nearly a century. We proudly present this 6-year-old Rye to you in remembrance of, and in tribute to, one of our founding partners, Dave Pickerell. This Whiskey would not exist without him. We think you’ll enjoy it. Cheers!
