To Provide the robust, flavor-forward profile more typical of American Single Malt is distilled “on-the-grain”.

Embodying the pioneering spirit of the American west, while paying homage to those who got us here.
A blend of 100% copper pot-distilled malt whiskeys, aged a minimum of two years and produced high in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. Unfiltered and distilled on the grain for a robust, western character.
Known for bold notes of fresh apricots, toasted marshmallow, and roasted walnuts upfront, with honeycomb, sourdough toast, and a hint of smoked lemon peel on the finish.
Best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water – while the sun dips low of the western horizon.

You’ve never tried a single malt like this one, aged for 5 years in a used tequila cask that previously held rumble, a spirit distilled from honey, sugar, and figs. This style-bending whiskey has butterscotch, graham crackers, and chili chocolate on the nose. The light, spicy palate has honey, lemon pepper, and even lime.

McCarthy’s Peated Oregon Single Malt
Lost Lantern hand-selected this cask McCarthy’s Oregon Single Malt from Clear Creek Distillery in Oregon. McCarthy’s is one of the very first American single malts, and the first one we fell in love with. Clear Creek has quietly made this exceptional whiskey for almost three decades.
This six-year-old cask, one of the distillery’s oldest, was made from U.K. barley malted with Islay peat and fermented, distilled, and aged in Oregon, aged in a third-fill 228 liter Oregon oak cask, it has a deep, intense smoke, with savory notes of leather and smoked meats and hints of French vanilla and sweet cream.

We love heavily peated single malts, and this cask is one of the finest we’ve found in the U.S. made from 100% peated Scottish barely, this cask was aged for 5 years in a new oak cask. It is very smoky, with flavors of smoked figs, bacon-wrapped dates, bitter orange marmalade, and fresh-baked brownies.
