AnCnoc 12 Year Old Scotch Whisky
It went down way too easy! And I’m not saying that’s a bad thing! This is a solid “everyday” kind of whisky. I’d imagine it would be a good dram for someone just starting to get into single malt whiskies.
On the nose it’s a light and creamy aroma with a hint of honey. Taste is soft, sweet and smooth vanilla, very, very light and approachable. An “easy going” dram with a long, sweet & spiced – yet smooth finish.
Put it this way – you wouldn’t feel that bad having a dram of this at 11am on a Tuesday morning. But don’t quote me on that.

AnCnoc Peatheart Batch 2 Scotch Whisky
I suppose I’m always a little sceptical when trying a new “smokey” or “peaty” single malt whisky. Purely because (personally) I’ve not yet found one that beats Lagavulin – and I’m okay with that. But, I must say, I gave a slow nod of approval as I indulged in this one. And no, for me it doesn’t contest with Lagavulin, but to be honest, I don’t think it’s trying to. It’s different…
It was a rich peaty aroma with toffee and vanilla on the nose, preparing you for a very full & well-balanced dram. Rich, peat smoke in taste – but not at all overpowering. Holding sweet, oaky notes, warm and smooth. A short & dry spiced finish.
Think camp fires and marshmallows. Definitely adding this bad boy to my “list”.
